A REPORT OF THE 8TH EDITION OF FAKO DIVISIONAL HANDICRAFT EXHIBITION 2023,
THEME: (DIGITALIZATION OF THE HANDICRAFT SECTOR A VALUABLE ASSET IN THE ERA OF
IMPORT SUBSTITUTION)
HELD ON THE 11TH & 12TH OF OCTOBER, 2023 AT THE REGIONAL HANDICRAFT VILLAGE BONADIKOMBO MILE 4, LIMBE.
The event occurred on Wednesday 11th & Thursday 12th of October, 2023. With it commencing at 11:00a.m, on Wednesday the 11th of October 2023, was presided upon by the Senior Divisional Officer for Fako. It featured a range of notable individuals which include (The Mayor of Limbe City Council, `The Divisional Delegate for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, The Regional Coordinator of Handicrafts and others who all performed the cutting of the ribbon led by the SDO for Fako, and approximately 50 participants, who were all given the platform to showcase their digital art and craft talents. The Senior Divisional Officer for Fako MR CHAIBOU and other notables delivered an inspiring speech at the event, emphasizing the significance of digital art and craft. The United Sisters Association recognized this event as an excellent opportunity to support and empower young girls and women who possess remarkable skills in this field but may require guidance to fulfill their aspirations.
The price and certificate awarding ceremony took place on Thursday, October 12th, 2023. The ceremony
was conducted by a representative of The Senior Divisional Officer for Fako together with The Mayor of
Limbe City Council , The Regional Coordinator of Handicrafts for South West and all the other notable individuals to recognize and promote the participants who dedicated their time to showcase their talent in handicraft. The main objective was to encourage the population to invest in this field.
Certainly! we want to express our gratitude to Madam Ashu Esther, the divisional delegate for small and medium-sized enterprises, who also serves as the chairwoman of the United Sisters Association. It was through her efforts that we were made aware of and invited to this event. Thanks to her, we have been afforded the opportunity to strive towards achieving our objectives.
The event concluded successfully, with the United Sisters Association (USA) effectively raising awareness
among the attendees about domestic violence prevention and the importance of empowering girls
through handicraft skills.
