THE 28TH EDITION OF THE WORLD RURAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION, 2023.

A REPORT OF THE 28TH EDITION OF THE WORLD RURAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION, ON
SUNDAY THE 15TH OF OCTOBER, 2023, AT BOBENDE VILLAGE COMMUNITY FIELD, LIMBE II.
THEME: RURAL WOMEN AND GREEN ECONOMY, BETTER PRODUCTION AND PROCESSING
TO SIEZE THE OPPORTUNITIES OF THE AFRICAN CONTINENTAL FREE TRADE AREA.

On the 15th of October, 2023, at precisely 12 noon, several prominent figures graced an event. Those in attendance included as The Senior Divisional Officer, The Divisional Officers of Limbe 1,2 and3, The City Mayor, the Members of Parliament for Fako East, the Lord Mayor of Limbe 1,2 and 3 Municipalities, The Divisional Delegate and Head of Service, as well .The General Manager of Public and Para public Corporation.

The zonal president provided women with motivating words of encouragement to emopower them in rural areas. The president urge these women to remain steadfast in their efforts and strive for progress in their local communities. This include enhancing production and processing methods to effectively take advantage of the opportunities presented by the African continental free trade area.

Mr Chaibou, The Divisional Office for Fako delivered an informative speech to the rural women during the
event aiming at raising awareness about the importance of rural women enhancing all aspects of their lives. Additionally, he encourage them by providing agricultural resources to assist in streamlining the
production process.

The Rural women did a match pass and other animations like traditional dance, play back, and others.
They were also given an opportunity to showcase some of their agricultural products. The United sisters
Association took this opportunity to educate the rural women on the fact that, despite being a rural woman or a woman from the villages or suburbs , they also have the right to be treated well and not vio-
lated. The United Siters Association also made it known to the rural women that they are open and ready to assist any woman or girl who is going through any form of violence.
