REPORT OF THE 3RD EDITION OF INTERNATIONAL TOURISM FAIR, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH
FLORA TRAVEL AND TOURS, HELD ON THE FRIDAY 2ND TO SATURDAY 4TH OF NOVEMBER ,2023.
THEME: MARKETING RUTRAL URBAN ECO-TOURISM DESTINATION:
HARNESSING LOCAL KNOWLEDGE FOR SUSTAINABILITY.
The event took place on November 2nd and 3rd, 2023, starting at 10:00 am on November 3rd, 2023. It was led by the Minister of Tourism and Leisure and attended by various individuals, including The Senior Divisional Officer For Fako, The Mayor Of Limbe City Council, The Divisional Delegate for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Members of the parliament and the Paramount Chiefs of Beau. The Regional Coordinator of Handicrafts, Miss Tourism from Northen Cameroon and Miss Tourism of Belin, MTN Cameroon, The University of Buea, Companies like Cameroon Turkey Business Council, Nwaja hotel, Seme Beach, Atlantic Beach, Restaurants. During the event, the Minister of Tourism and Leisure, Mr. Bello Bouba, delivered a motivational speech highlighting the importance of the international tourism fair and handicrafts. The United Sisters Association recognized this event as an excellent opportunity to support and empower young girls and women who possess remarkable skills in this field but may require guidance to fulfill their aspirations.
Mr. Bello Bouba, the minister of tourism and leisure, was greatly impressed by the event, particularly by the presence of organizations, hotels, beaches, and handicraft vendors who were there to display their skills and make their locations and products known to the public. The Minister of Tourism and Leisure
accompanied by The Senior Divisional Officer for Fako MR CHAIBOU ,Members of the parliament and the
Paramount Chief of Fako personally visited the invited guests and vendors to understand their activities
and provide encouragement to the participants who devoted their time to showcasing their talents. The main objective was to encourage the population to invest on their field.
Certainly! we want to express our gratitude to Madam Ashu Esther, the divisional delegate for small and medium-sized enterprises, who also serves as the chairwoman of the United Sisters Association. It was through her efforts that we were made aware of and invited to this event. Thanks to her, we have been afforded the opportunity to strive towards achieving our objectives.
The event concluded successfully, with the United Sisters Association (USA) effectively raising awareness among the attendees about domestic violence prevention and the importance of empowering womenand girls through handicraft skills.
