LARDIN’S PARTICIPATING IN THE WALK FOR 16 DAYS ACTIVISM 2024. Theme: “Responding and Rebuilding After the Abuse”.

Yesterday , Wednesday, November 27, 2024, LARDIN participated in a significant walk organized by the Women empowerment center in celebration of the 16th Day of Activism, focusing on women's empowerment. The event aimed to raise awareness on gender-based violence and promote equality, gathering participants from various organizations committed to this cause.

The walk commenced at the Women Empowerment Center located opposite Comprehensive School, Limbe , Cameroon at 8:00 AM. From there, participants made their way through Newtown, fostering a spirit of unity and strength. The route was chosen to maximize visibility and encourage community engagement.

During the walk, participants engaged in various activities, including:

- **Distribution of T-Shirts:** Custom T-shirts were shared with over seven participating organizations. This not only fostered a sense of unity among participants but also served as a platform for promoting the purpose of the event. The T-shirts featured messages advocating for women's rights and against gender violence.

- **Awareness Campaign:** Along the route, activists raised their voices to educate bystanders about the importance of women's rights and the need to eradicate violence against women. Informational pamphlets were also distributed to enhance public knowledge.

Conclusively,
LARDIN'S PARTICIPATION in the walk from the Women Empowerment Center to the SDO Office, where the women were addressed and encouraged by the SDO, reassured that our voices are heard was a profound success, marking the significance of the 16th Day of Activism in advocating for women's empowerment. The engagement of over seven organizations exemplifies a strong community commitment to this vital cause. The event not only achieved its goal of raising awareness but also created a platform for continued dialogue on women's issues in society.

Overall, the walk served as a powerful reminder of the collective effort required to empower women and combat violence against them.
